A regional product
The recognition of Perron cheddar as an authentic regional product isn’t new. To date, its reputation goes far beyond Quebec’s borders; it’s won over forty awards and distinctions on the national and international scene in Europe and Canada. Still today, the Fromagerie Perron is the only privately owned company in Quebec to export its cheese to England.

Cheese connoisseurs and amateurs alike appreciate the unique delicacy of its taste and aroma. For example, the connoisseur and cheese specialist, Gilles Roiseux, regularly sings its praises. He regularly speaks about it in eloquent terms during televised shows and in his famous Guide complet des fromages du Québec1. The same can be said of the ethnologist, Jacques Dorion, who reserves a place of honour for it in his magnificent agro-tourism guide Les terroirs du Québec2.

In fact, the standard for Perron cheddar resides in the preservation of the original recipe by each of the four generations who have successively headed the company. Now it’s your turn to discover and appreciate it by visiting the Musée du fromage cheddar. You’ll find out a lot more about this unique product.
